Guava Leaves for Hair Loss: Everything You Need to Know

Each of us can experience hair problems, especially hair fall despite using products that claim to prevent it. Fortunately, there are home remedies that you can turn to without fear of chemicals that can make the problem worse. One treatment worth trying is the use of guava leaves.

Guava is recognized as a sweet exotic fruit from Mexico and South and Central America. The fruit itself is extremely nutritious with three times the recommended daily intake of vitamin C, along with vitamin A, fiber, potassium, and lycopene.

Guava Leaves for Your Hair

Using guava leaves and applying to hair can make it softer and more beautiful. But for people who are losing hair, guava leaves can help thicken hair volume. The leaves are effective in boosting hair growth as they help treat scalp problems, which is a common cause of hair fall. Guava leaves have healing properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic, and antibacterial – all of which contribute to better scalp health.

To use guava leaves for hair, here’s what you need:

  • A handful of leaves from a guava tree
  • 4 cups of water
  • strainer
  • Pot

With the mentioned items ready, here are a few steps to prepare a hair grower:

1. Add water to the pot.
2. Put the pot on the stove and let it boil.
3. When the water boils, it’s time to add the guava leaves.
4. Leave the leaves to boil in water for about 20 minutes.
5. Use a strainer to take the liquid.
6. Allow the liquid to cool down before applying to the scalp.

Make sure you clean your hair first before using the guava leaf solution. You can use shampoo first and then let your hair dry before application. To make it easier, you can part your hair into sections while applying the liquid to your hair. If desired, massage the scalp for about 10 minutes or more. Your hair should be all wet with guava leaf water, especially the roots and tips. You can rinse after two hours or you can leave it on your hair overnight. Just wrap it in a towel and you can go to bed because the solution works its magic. Rinsing the solution from your hair needs lukewarm water to remove it thoroughly.

It is recommended to make a solution of guava leaf three times a week, especially if you have a problem with hair loss. If you just want to speed up hair growth or keep your hair stronger and shinier, use the solution twice a week.
