You probably know already that plants are great for getting more oxygen flowing into your home and improving air quality. But did you know that a few plants can even help reduce anxiety, panic attacks, and depression?
In fact, research has established a direct link between oxygen levels and stress. High levels of indoor toxins lead to anxiety and stress.
In this way, maintaining clean air free from toxins will improve your state of mind and help with pressure and discomfort.
Jasmine For Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Depression
Laboratory examination showed that the aroma of the jasmine plant and jasmine essential oil significantly calmed mice when their cage was filled with it. The aroma made them stop every movement and sit unobtrusively in the corner.
Cerebrum filters revealed the effect of jasmine fragrance on a chemical called GABA; it eased the tension and encouraged rest.
Professor Hanns Hatt expressed that the evidence published online in the journal Biological Chemistry could be “viewed as evidence of the logical reason for fragrant healing.”
In fact, the researchers came up with the solution that jasmine has expanded the GABA effect many times over (in contrast to different scents) and showed to be more effective than sedatives, sleeping pills, and anti-tension drugs.
