According to Chinese researchers, the spread of coronavirus is slowed by high temperature and humidity.
Since last December, 8,171 people have been infected with the new virus in mainland China, of which 3,277 died and 73,159 recovered. However, in recent days the country has had three consecutive days without a “local” case of coronavirus and intends to prevent the disease from returning to its soil from abroad.
Chinese researchers at Beihang and Tsinghua University have therefore studied the spread of the pandemic. They conclude: Although the weather could not prevent Covid-19 from wreaking havoc, it seems that rising temperatures and humidity levels would slow its spread. In fact, in several cities in China, the transmission rate of coronaviruses has fallen as temperatures get warmer during the weeks.
“High temperatures and high relative humidity reduce the spread of the virus drastically,” the study said in a Daily Mail study.
However, it is important to mention that the researchers are in no way talking about the eradication of coronaviruses. These experts are talking about a likely decrease in transmission speed.
