Vertigo, the dizziness, and nausea caused by something wrong in the inner ear can complicate even the simplest tasks. When nausea and dizziness occur, you feel weak and helpless.
Home remedies should not replace seeking medical advice from a doctor, but you may notice that adding what your doctor recommends will help provide vertigo relief. The following seven remedies are possible from the comfort of your home and are quite simple.
Sleep
According to Vertigo treatment, one of the best things for a person who has a vertigo attack is to take a nap. Often the dizziness disappears when they awaken.
Acupressure
Because sleep is not always an option, Modern Reflexology says to apply pressure to the P6, also known as Pericardium 6. It is located between the two tendons of the arm, three finger widths below the wrist.
Hydrogen peroxide
Vertigo Treatment recommends the use of hydrogen peroxide for the treatment of vertigo. Put a lot of hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball and lie down. Place a cotton ball in your ear and let the peroxide drip into it until it is full. Wait five or 10 minutes until sounds are heard. Drain the peroxide out, and vertigo should disappear.
Ginger
Not much research has been done on herbs against dizziness, but WebMD notes that ginger seems to make it easier. My Vertigo says you can take capsule ginger, chew it raw or make tea from it. To make the tea, chop the ginger root and pour it into boiling water for 10 minutes. You may want to sweeten it with honey.
Ginkgo
Another herb that WebMD says looks promising in the fight against vertigo is Ginkgo Biloba. Treatment for dizziness recommends taking 60 mg two or three times a day.
Apple cider vinegar and honey
A fairly new drug recommended by Alternative Daily is apple cider vinegar and honey. This one doesn’t have any science behind it, but many swear by it. Mix two parts honey with one part apple cider vinegar. Swallow 1 tablespoon of this mixture two or three times a day.
Almonds
Although scientists have not been able to find out why almonds seem to have an effect on vertigo. You can eat a handful daily, or soaking almonds, khuskhus seeds and wheat in water overnight to make a paste. Add the paste to warm milk every night and drink it.
Don’t let vertigo take time with your family and friends. Seek medical help and try one of these medicines to take control of your life.
