If you can’t do without sodas, the fate of this Malaysian man could automatically distract you from this habit. Mohd Razin Mohamed (56) almost lost his arm as a result of his addiction to fizzy drinks.
The patient said that he drank at least two cans of fizzy drinks each day during his working hours. Because of this, he developed type 2 diabetes, and shortly after the diagnosis, he found a huge boil on his back, which grew visibly until it reached the size of his hand
Mohammed then checked into a clinic in the city of Selangor in Malaysia. At that stage, medics could see the bone underneath. It is unknown why the patient did not seek medical attention earlier.
Concerned, doctors rushed him for emergency surgery that involved cutting away the skin that had become infected.
Medics were also forced to drain away from the pus from the boil and put Mohd on an intensive course of antibiotics.
Mohammed is no longer able to return to work as a telecommunications engineer because he cannot move his hand.
He also suffers from back pain caused by the fact that the skin is tighter on one side than the other, after which he can no longer stand and walk upright. “Now there is no place for remorse. All I know is that this is a consequence of the excessive consumption of sugar, ” said Mohamed
