Mostly the career of a model lasts from the teenage days until the mid-30s, but the modern age brings new trends – models are getting older, and even in their late years they have been doing this business very successfully.
Proof of this is the “flood” of current-looking models in recent years, led by famed 71-year-old Canadian model Maya Musk, but the oldest Asian model Alice Pang is definitely a winner in this category.
Born in 1923, Alice never dreamed she would one day be modeling for high-end fashion brands like Gucci, Ellery or Valentino, let alone at age 96. But her fair complexion and excellent posture – uncommon qualities for people her age – make her one of the most sought-after senior models in the business.

This lady from Hong Kong has always liked dressing well and looking elegant, but never actually considered a career in modeling. But her granddaughter always thought she had it in her, so when she saw an online ad for senior models of 65, she sent in Alice’s pictures and she was chosen for a photo-shoot. Never one to back away from a challenge, Pang decided to give it a shot and even though she knew nothing about modeling, she had all the natural qualities to succeed at it. Today, she is recognized as one of the best senior models in Asia, as well as the oldest.
Alice Pang says she had no tricks and no routine, but only had luck with the genes. Today, unusual, elegant posture and specific appearance, unusual for late years, makes Alice one of the most popular models of this kind in the fashion industry.
“The years are just a number. I don’t care what other people will say about the way I present myself,” Pang concluded.
