There is good news – a few quick and simple things you can do to keep your feet soft and mild throughout the year.
1. Remove the dead skin daily. Regular daily use of the legs causes calluses and blisters, which are mainly of dead skin. To keep your feet soft, remove this dead skin every day after showering.
Use a pumice stone to remove dead skin from your feet.
It’s usually easier to remove dead skin after your feet have been soaked in warm water, so it’s best to take this step after a shower or bath.
2. Keep your feet hydrated. Unlike other body parts, your feet do not have enough means to keep them properly hydrated. In addition, with age, skin cell regeneration slows down and may increase skin dryness. To keep your feet hydrated, apply a moisturizing lotion or cream to your feet every day.
Ideally, you can do this after a shower and exfoliate your feet. You can also build the habit of applying moisturizer to your feet every night before bedtime.
